    Help diagnosing browning HC

Thanks Biplbug, this is the most logical explanation. I'll look at a different fert regime. Any suggestions using flourish comprehensive alone, or will I need to dose independently? Thanks for your help

    Help diagnosing browning HC

I took care of that with the addition of the inhabitants and a UV sterilizer. Now I NEED algae to feed them so I've instead been supplementing their diet with wafers. From what you've said, my photoperiod is a non-issue.

    Co2-cloudy water relationship?

And as far as the fish are concerned? And as for the cloudiness, I suspect I am having an algal bloom. Does anyone know of a co2 diffusion method whereby it is dissolved into the water with 100% efficiency, thus eliminating microbubbles?

    Co2-cloudy water relationship?

Hi guys, I'm getting water that clouds progressively throughout each day, then clears when the Co2 is off overnight. I'm using an inline diffuser which, through the spray bar, mists the tank with micro bubbles. It is not. however, the micro bubbles which are clouding the water. The particles...

    General co2 question

That's fine aqua_chem- I'll get it up to 30ppm and see how things unfold. Supplementary question: will increased co2 help with my algae problem? I'm getting some flying fox, oto's and shrimp today to try and mitigate this dreadful hair algae issue I'm having. Currently at around 280L, have...

    General co2 question

Thanks for all the replies. To clarify, I have DIY 4dKH solution in the drop checker nowdays, however, before I used this solution I was using aquarium water, which at the time had a KH of 1 or 2. It was green (without even having yet installed co2). When the 4dKH went in, it was blue...

    General co2 question

Hi guys, I am getting conflicting information re; co2 levels. LFS tells me to keep it at 1 bubble per 2-4 seconds for a new setup (currently have carpeting HC, DHC, anubias); the Internet is saying keep the drop checker in the green! (have DIY 4dKH). I have it at about 20ppm +-5 using...

    Multiple algae!

Thanks Rivercats. I have been putting off getting anything too big that will shade the HC as yet as my goal is to initially get it carpeted. I appreciate your input on this and will perhaps have something like that planted temporarily. Regards, Jayna

    Multiple algae!

Thanks for the reply; I have 3xT8's and 2xT5 grolux- comes in at a little over 2wpg. New HC in the process of carpeting, frogbit, some DHG and anubias. In essence, not a whole lot. I am dosing flourish once weekly, potassium, stability. Keeping the co2 in the green. Spoke to my LFS...

    Multiple algae!

Hi guys, Just did a water change on a cycling tank (nitrates were through the roof...was that justified?), and took some pics of some algae so I could get some assistance from you guys. This morning, it was even pearling! Note that the bubbles in the photos are due to a water change obviously...
