Hi all... I'm about 6 weeks out from my upgrade to a 125g tank and I'm thinking about using a Herbie system instead of the standard durso pipes that came with the tank to reduce the noise. Now, it's been about 7yrs since I last setup a new tank and I don't have any experience with this "herbie"...

I would try a couple peppermint shrimps as well as manual removal. I have had 2 peps in my tank for a couple years now and I haven't seen an aiptasia since. I will say that I think that if the aiptasia gets too large, the pep won't touch it. Sent from my iPad using Aquarium Advice

Hey Eric- Im sure people would help you, but I would say that more information is needed to do so.....like What do you mean by coral rock? Do you mean live rock? Is there any fish in the system? Type, size and how many fish. What type of lighting does he have? How old are his bulbs? What type...

While I don't think that's an awful idea (ideas are rarely awful), I do agree that it's not ideal. You'd have to find a way to direct significantly more output to one direction and that would be a real pain to be tweak in. May I ask what's the reason for trying to use just one pump? Space...

I'm not sure what the point of this post was? This is not a good way at all to do this. A clown will choose a host if it wants to do so, not because it's forced...I had a clown for yrs that was perfectly happy without a host.....even when it had several options. Happy to hear your clownfish...

@ccxgt Not sure actually. Believe it or not, I have yet to see a molt. You would think I would in the last 8 yrs! It looks clear to me....but I'm not sure if shrimp go clear like that when they die. Don't know why they would. I should have grabbed it but I was running out the door to work...
