I use Flourish tablets in the substrate and give small doses of Flourish excel (liquid) daily, along with small dose of a liquid fertilizer(leaf zone). All my plants are doing well and growing taller and new leaves:) So I am thinking that it it helps.

I have mine 12 hours with a timer. If you have algae problems, a book I read about aquatic plants suggested 6 hours on then 2 hours off and 6 hours on again.

I'm having trouble cleaning the substrate with all the plants in the way. Anyone have some secret tip? Maybe I just have too big of a siphon and need a smaller more maneuverable one.
