It's a glass top with a seperate strip for the light.

I have a strip light made by All-Glass that came with the tank. I would up grade the bulb to a higher wattage, but I'm not sure if the light can handle it. It doesn't say what the max wattage is.

I don't have a lot of light, another reason that I want something easy. I think it's a 20 watt light, but I need to check again.

I think my fish had a walking buffet yesterday. Not one shrimp in sight, though there are a few places that I can not see that they could be hiding out in.

Well I put 5 ghosts in the tank before I went to work. I'll see how many I can find tonight. It will be a bit of an effort since I have white gravel and lots of places to hide out of sight.

I'm in the process of stocking the tank. Right now there are four neon tetras, two dwarf gouramis, and two rainbows.

I am thinking about adding some shrimp, likely ghosts, to my tank and I'm wondering how much of a bio-load they put on a tank. I know the rule of thumb for fish, but what is it for shrimp?

Thanks for the welcome. My test results are looking ok. The ammonia is at .25 right now and the nitrites are at 0. Is it worth getting some Bio-Spira?
