I just directly added around 7 tablespoons of aquarium salt and then realized by reading something that I shouldn't have. Does anyone know whether 7 tablespoons aquarium salt directly added to about 50g water at once will be harmful?
Okay, thank you all. Will be gradually raising the temp and just added about 7 tablespoons of salt, which I am now regretting as I just saw I should have done that gradually over 24-48 hours as well. Should I take any action of trying to remove some of the salt? I use to let it...
I need to raise the temperature due to one of the fish having Ick. Mostly African and one SA which is the one who is showing the Ick. Right now I'm going to raise it from 78F to 80F, how high can I safely gradually raise it to? I've decided to just raise the temp instead of medicating the whole...
Okay thank you, I will raise the temp. The aquarium is mostly Small/Medium African Cichlids with one South American earth eater Cichlid (which is the one showing the ick) Do you think 86-88F is safe for them?
I've heard that medication can kill the good bacteria and cause the aquarium to have to go through a cycle all over again :nono:. I have "SENTRY Mardel Coppersafe" I know that I need to treat the whole tank even though only one fish has the Ick but I am very hesitant and nervous to do so. I...
okay thanks but do I have to empty the tank to put the styrofoam underneath, or can I just slide it under the space as i did with the card board? if I have to empty the tank how do I go about it? what do I need?
There is space between the middle of the bottom rim and my stand, i decided to slide card board underneath today but would rather not keep in there, it's as if only the ends of my tank is being supported, what do i do?
it would be difficult for me to get a good picture from directly above, but I am pretty sure he looks normal to me from above, has scales aren't raised and from the small moment that I can glance at him from above he doesn't seem disformed.. I feed him about 4 times a week, maybe 5. He eats...
like I said he isn't over fed and he doesn't have raised scales and his stomach really doesn't look that bad so I don't think it is dropsy. could it be constipation or something else? if you can't tell in the picture, the bloating starts immediately behind his gills and ends where his bottom...
I thought that everything had turned out fine, as far as no compatibility problems while accumulating my small/medium sized Africans. Although today I noticed that two of them have been visibly bitten:( Is this something that is normal/bound to happen, or does this mean I need to make some...
that must be exactly it, i gave them an algae wafer yesterday just to try it out with them and shortly later BOOM .. i hope they'll be okay, I'll do the peas tonight, any specific type i should use?
