So I'm doing in fish cycling and its been about a month. Im patient with my cycle and don't mind slowly cycling nor water changes. About a week ago my nitrites went up and i was so happy but from there i haven't seen nitrites at all. Its like the bacteria just disappeared.

Whats the best type of fertilizer and how do I use it? (bury or just sprinkle over the gravel?)

Is there anyway i can reduce this aggression besides changing decorations which i have done and is not working. He recently killed one of my shrimp and will chase my other one once and a while. If i get a new betta how can be sure that one wont be aggressive?
Is he dead or shedding? i only found the head and the tail not the body. Was he eaten by my betta? He was an amano shrimp thats about his size. I dont want to look for my shrimp because i dont wanna stress my betta out since hes a bit ill.
I notice every time i do big changes in the tank or i feel like I'm stressing out the fish. He gets like a peeling scale on his right eye on the same spot. It usually heals in 2-3 days but then if i do a big change again then its back to the spot.
I just put a BUNCH of bubbles in my tank but my filter sucks up the air bubbles and makes a grinding noise. Im wondering if its ok to keep it that way?
