    Does anyone else do this?

I have a total of 7 canister filters. Regardless of how well I cleaned (or didn't clean) the filters, when I turned them on I got that initial burst of sludge from the return. I know it's no big deal, and clears right up. But it drove me crazy. So I stole a couple of pairs of my wife's knee...

    Brittle Stars?

No. they are definitely brittle stars. I'm a diver from way back and I have seen them many times. Long thin bristled arms, move way faster than any other starfish. Your picture looks a lot like what I've got only these are probably less than 3 inches across.

    Brittle Stars?

Will they get too big for my little 29 gallon cube?

    Thanks. That's a relief.

    Brittle Stars?

That's good to hear. My intention is to have a few small fish (clown, cardinal, goby) and a couple of shrimp. Do you think the shrimp would be safe with the brittle stars?

    Brittle Stars?

Hello. I'm a freshwater enthusiast who just made the plunge into saltwater so to speak. I just set up a 29 gallon Biocube, and found out that my live rock is housing a bunch of tube worms, a couple of small sponges, and at least 3 brittle stars. Is there any chance they will survive the...

    Black tailed Vieja?

I bought this guy on the advice of the manager of the LFS. He said that it was a Vieja Melanurus. Used to be Paratheraps. When I did my research, it blew my mind. I don't want a PHd in Cichlid genealogy, I just want to know what kind of fish I have and how best to care for it. When I bought...

Angels and Bala Sharks in 125

I actually have a Blue Crayfish in a different tank. My son named him The Kraken. He's awesome, but only comes out of hiding at dinnertime and after the lights are out. Still considering what to put in with the Angels. You're right, so many choices. I have four 4" Dennison Barbs in a 93 gal...

Angels and Bala Sharks in 125

Thanks for the advice. I did some research on possible tank mates for Angelfish, and Bala Sharks kept coming up. Some sites said you needed at least 75 gallons and others said 150. Some said you should keep at least 3 and other said at least 6. Regardless, I think I'll scrap the Bala Shark...

Angels and Bala Sharks in 125

I recently (about a month ago) purchased a 125 gal aquarium on Craigslist. The ad said that it came with everything. I found out when I started talking to the seller that "everything" included 24 Angelfish an a huge female albino BNP. Long story short, I've given away 12 juveniles, moved my 5...

Anyone in the Mid Missouri area?

Looking for a good LFS in the Columbia/Jeff City area. Columbia Pet Center is the only one I've found. Also, it would be nice to know of some other enthusiasts in the area. I'm from Mexico Mo.

Update to 93 gal (fake marine) cube

Ya know, I thought the plants looked a little too close to the glass after I put them in. I'll move them during the next water change. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Aquarium Advice mobile app

Update to 93 gal (fake marine) cube

So We've made some changes to this tank. While I admit that I was a little stung by RackinRocky's reply to my last thread, it made me take a good look at the environment of the tank. Even though the fish didn't SEEM stressed, and I've only lost 3 of the original 14 tiger barbs in the last...

Adding fish to established semi-agressive tank

The picture I sent is a little misleading. The large coral in the back is 14 1/2" tall by 18" wide by 9" deep and riddled with hiding places. The one in the front is 12" tall, hollow, and has many holes for the fish to swim through. There's also another one in the back that you can't see in...

Adding fish to established semi-agressive tank

I thought about that. Just don't want to distract from the marine look of the tank.
