Zebra snail. My bleeding hearts were bothering it one day, next morning it was dead with a chunk missing. Water parameters were fine(this happened a few years ago in my old 10g)

Just curious about techniques and ways to do it. I use a python. When I'm water changing I try to vacuum all the visible detritus and not going too far into the substrate. Anyone do a deep travel clean?

Last week 2 days after I stocked it nitrates were around 20 and there was some ammonia

5 tetra, 3 baby lyretail electric blue ram, 3 baby pleco(clown and 2 bn)

Originally used the bacteria in a bottle colony(as instructed by my chain lfs), but then used some media from a very established tank. Nitrates were slightly lighter than 5ppm from my master test kit.

Could I just feed less and give it less light to see if it sorts out, or will that not work and should I nip it in the butt before it gets out of hand? Doesn't smell at all atm.

Plan on having 5 bleeding heart, 7 diamond, and 9 or so rummynose. Whats in there is just from my old 10g. Love the tank, got a great deal. One of the first we did when We bought a big house, big tank.

I plan on adding those two plants and rummynoses, great minds I guess. Hah
