    Smooth marble ok for tank?

I found a lovely moss green marble soap dish (5.5"Lx3.5"Wx0.75"H) at Goodwill today for a buck. It does not look or feel like it has ever had soap on it -it still had the original store tag on it. I would like to use it as a feeding dish in the 75g. This dish would be great to keep the pellets...

    Coralife FW 96W, 2x 6,700K review requested

I would like to upgrade my single strip 65w coralife to this 96w. I have a 75g planted tank but no co2. If you use this light, please let me know if it is worth buying it and if it would mean addition of co2. Thanks

Lighting-or why we do what we do....

I love this hobby of fish/plant keeping. I love doing the research and tirelessly roaming to find just that right part for this particular tank, be it filter, substrate, heater, lighting system, fish, decorations, etc. What I don't seem to do is REMEMBER why I make certain choices. Take the...

    My 75g tank

This is picture of my 75g tank. The stand was made by my Army reservist son in gratitude for returning alive (spring 2006) from a year in Iraq. I really need more plants but don't want to get into high tech with stronger lights and co2. I have 2 Rena xp3 filters, a coralife 65w, 10,000w light...

    !!!Black skirt tetras gone mad!!!

Here's the situation: quarantined three skirt tetras for 20 days and then added them to 75g after drip acclimation of one hour (yesterday). After a few minutes of confusion, the three started to tag along with the five skirt tetras already in tank. Everything looked good; all eight were...

    Last bolivian ram turned brown...

I have one bolivian ram left out of a group of six -the others lasted 3-4 years and kept their color to the end. This last one turned brown over time and has retreated behind the plants to hang out with the cories. He's been brown now for months. He doesn't act sick, just is shy and brown; he...

    pH varies between tanks...why?

I have two tanks, both planted. One is a 75 g with 2 Rena 3 filters. The other is 10g quarantine tank with Fluval filter (model unknown). The 10g pH is 6.0. The 75 g pH is 6.4. I have three skirt tetras in 10 g I was planning on transferring to 75g tomorrow. Is this pH difference going to cause...

    Strange leaf spots-please identify

Can anyone tell me if what these spots are? They are on several java fern leaves, but not on all. Are they eggs? This tank has neons, black skirt tetras, bolivian rams, and cories PLUS a gazillion mts (snails). I did a water change a few days ago and I don't think they were there at that time.

Is there such a thing as stocking too little?

Should I get more fish and if so, what kind? I'm wondering if too few fish is why my cories are sooooo shy and nervous. They used to dart around playfully when they first joined the tank around two years ago but now they practically dig holes in the substrate to stay hidden all the time. When I...

    Assassin snails?

[B]Anyone have experience with assassin snails, Clea helena?/B] I have thousands of mystery snails in my 75 gallon and supposedly these eat nuisance snails. My substrate is ecocomplete and some river gravel so I don't know if that would be good for these snails.

    Neon fat or pregnant? Pictures

Hi. It's been awhile since I last posted. I've learned a lot from these forums though. This 'problem' may not be a problem but its got me stumped. One of my neon tetras really plumped up within the last week. It is not acting sick, but is noticeably bigger this week. It is so heavy in front it...

NIB Eheim classic 2213 canister filter

I bought this Eheim and then got a larger tank so this filter will not suit my needs. I am asking for what I paid, which was $67.00, not including postage. If you are interested I can calculate shipping cost to your area. The Eheim 2213 is rated for a 66g tank or smaller. Output is 116gph, and...
