My pH is low, I did check that. And yes, they checked it as well as I. I’m not planning on adding any, I feel horrible that these 2 had to suffer [emoji20] but I never had and reason to think there was a problem.

Yes, about half of them were white this morning and quite a few others were eaten. There's maybe 20-30 left that were amber.

Can they actually grow in a community tank? I have.. 1 gold gourami 1 blue gourami 2 silver dollars 1 German ram 2 angels and the pleco.

Although I will say the pleco stays low when the light is on- shouldni leave the light on until they spawn or will that just mess up the fish?

There's no way I have the time or the room to set up another tank and get it to where I can move the others into it. I didn't get the angels for breeding I just picked the 2 healthiest looking and a few months later here we are lol.

ETA: there is also a large pleco in this tank- will he eat them or will the angels keep them away?

I keep mine at 80-82. They're very happy.

I've had both dwarf gourami with tetras and currently have a gold and blue gourami with serpaes white skirts silver dollars and angels. No issues.

I've had fish in the entire time. Haven't lost any yet knock on wood.

Update: got my reading finally! Time for water changes.

My ammonia level has dropped to .25 no nitrites and nitrates between 5-10ppm. I haven't done a water change in 2 days and my ammonia is going down completely on it's own. I've never had a nitrite reading which is what's confusing me.
