Hi. I am down scaling my 145 LR tank to a 54lr due to health reasons and not being able to dedicate the same amount of time I could previous. I have a fluval 205 in my current tank. Is this going to be to powerful for the 54lr one. I'm tempted to give it a try. Thank in advance.
Okay...you seem to be doing really well. I had do many problems at the beginning I almost gave up completely.
I'm guessing the pH is fine because it has been consistently the same reading and my fish haven't been affected.
Just out of interest what is your ph? Mine has been at 8.0 for around 6 months. Doesn't seem to have had any effect on my fish but my tetra app states that this is too high.
Oh yes, you might need clean out the filter ( I do mine every 4 weeks.) Do it when you do a water change, using that water to rinse out the sponges etc. Then fill the filter back up with tank water too. That seems to work best for me. Good luck.
I haven't quite mastered the art of keeping plants to be honest. They are quite difficult to maintain. I just bought cheap ones to begin with until I got used to the water parameters and up keep of the fish. I am now trying to get my head around plants, lighting and substrate etc. Sorry I can't...
Sorry I really don't know what kind of light it is. It only covers half the tank., I have tried to place it in the centre. Yes, I agree. A bigger light would help. Sorry I'm a bit vague, I am new to this .
Yes of cause!,..150gallon tank, black sand, external fluval filter, 1 air stone, white and blue light but is poor.
2 silver Molly
1 swordtail koi
2 silver tail tetras
1 raindow shark
2 red claw crabs.
Hi can somebody please give me some advice. I have a 150 gallon tank but I seem to be useless at keeping plants! My fish tend to eat them within two weeks of having them and I am also not sure about which ones are best for a beginner with lots if contradicting information out there I am a...
I had the same problem when I first had my tank. I ended up completely getting rid of the gravel and replaced it with black sand. Seems to be more manageable all around now. Good luck
It's a homemade tank. Yes, I would say it is approximately 40gal.
I think the tetras are silver tail/tips. Not 100% sure. My shark isnt too aggressive when I have plenty of plants but I can't seem to keep them long enough without the fish eating all the leaves.! Is that normal?

Hi all,
I am fairly new to keeping fresh water fish. I have a 150ltr tank with:
1 x rainbow shark
4 x silver mollies (plus 2 x fry. Approx 5 weeks old)
2 x tetra
1 x koi sword tail
2 x red claw crabs
I want to carefully start adding some new additions but I am a little unsure about...
