    Anemone identification

Yea that’s what the guy said at the store. This is my first anemone so I’ve been meowing a close eye on it, also because I have a bunch of coral in the tank as well. It seems to be doing fine but it likes to stay under my rocks, not sure why. I keep trying to have it stay in the front of the...

Ok thank you!! I’ll probs just put a new bag of sand with the new 20 lbs of live rock and keep the bold live rock and the 20 gallons of water that’s already in the tank.

    “Re starting” my tank

A couple weeks ago my friend gave me 40 gal tank because she didn’t want it and I’ve recently decided, once I have the time, I will just upgrade my tank with it. I currently have a 20 gal ref tank with 2 nano clowns and a dwarf angel In it. During April vacation I would love to transfer that all...

    Coral identification

I bought this coral about 2 months ago as my first coral. I was asking for Xenia corals and the person at the store gave me this. I had a feeling it wasn’t a Xenia but I went with it. Then when school started I asked one of the marine teachers and they thought it was either a Zoanthid or a...

Small snails appearing in my tank

So I just got home from a week long vacation away from my tank and the pet sitter said everything went smoothly, which seemed like it until I woke up to a bunch of small baby snails. I have no clue how they appeared. My only guess if I purchased my snail pregnant and she just laid the eggs or...

    Coral won’t open

I set it up back in December. I think it was so low bc I hadn’t done a water change in a few weeks. It’s generally pretty stable nitrates wise so as long as it doesn’t rise I don’t rlly do a water change. At the moment there is just a clownfish and turbo snail it in. The clownie is super...

    Coral won’t open

I bought this coral about 2 weeks ago as my first coral and everything has been doing fine. I did my first water change with it in the tank today and for some odd reason half of it won’t open... I tested everything that I have test kits for and it all seems normal and nothing has changed, PH was...

    Territorial aggression?

Nitrates are at 0 I just tested last night. She’s just naturally aggressive. I am eventually going to return her back to the store to get my seahorses back...I will just warm them how nasty she is lol

    Territorial aggression?

I forgot to mention the original snail died bc it fell off a rock in the middle of the night, wasn’t able to flip over and died, it was a turbo. Happed months ago tho

    Territorial aggression?

It’s a 20 gal. I started off with just two clownfish and a snail back in January. Everything was going good for the first 3 months so I added a pipefish (pipefish and clownies r kept in the same tank at the store so I knew it was ok to put them together). It was a small pipefish, I believe it...

    Territorial aggression?

My clownie is so aggressive she’s killed 2 fish and attacked the snail I added today :/ I’ve netted her, separated her and rearranged the rocks many times. I honestly had no clue they were I guess kinda naturally aggressive???

    Macro algae turning white

So you have had good and bad experiences with macros?? I still haven’t taken it out because I wanted more inputs. I think I’m just going to prune the macros and keep the good parts and see what happens. I’ve checked all my water parameters and everything is normal so I’m not quite sure what to do.

    Macro algae turning white

Yea I didn’t plan on adding any more macro to the tank before this thread even started, I’m not going to anymore. However, will the tank be ok to put corals in? I’m adding some in next weekend and I just want to make sure everything is safe before I add some in.

    Macro algae turning white

Hmm that’s real bummer :( the store I buy all my sw fish from use macro as decorations so I just assumed it was ok. I’m still learning haha so this is good info. I will take it out this weekend and do some water changes. Do u think the water should be ok to put some coral in? I was planning on...

    Macro algae turning white

Yes it’s so pretty I would never of imagined this ever happening to my tank! My god! Maybe that’s why I had problems in my other tabk, I always had caulerpa in it? should I take it out of my tank and do massive water changes?

    Macro algae turning white

So if I buy a different type of macro algae this shouldn’t happen? Just that species? Also should I take it out?
