Is it absolutely necessary to get the pH higher? My peacocks have been living in a pH of 7.5 for about a year and are fine

I've just realised that it's a swordtail, I'm actually surprised I didn't think of that before. Ive never kept swordtails before and I was completely unaware that the female swordtails didn't have the sword.

Do you think it's a Platy or a mollie?

Do you know where I could get a good safe piece of wood? What type of wood is safe for aquariums? I've been to the beach where I live multiple times and I haven't found any decent sized driftwood.

I don't have any spare driftwood at the moment. Would it be to much to change 30% of the water in a few days and not add any ph down?

Thanks for the advice. The pH when I tested it today is 7.4 and they seem a lot happier. I think I will discontinue the use of pH down and let them adjust to my tap water which is 7.6
