How often would you suggest changing the sock?

I have 90lbs of live rock in a 75g and I have a filter sock over the overflow tube.

I have a sump setup. No mechanical filter. Figured my skimmer,bioballs, and my filter pads would do the trick.

Any advice on keeping nitrate level down. Was stable for a minute but now not so much....

Just saw first signs of ich on my tang. Got her from a questionable shop and I think she came with it. Bought kick ich and began treating. After reading this I turned the heater up. Any chance this will work. Qt and destroying my tank are not an option.

It's a perfect circle. Are scrolls typically closed circles? If a mushroom what could it be. It's a hard skeleton

Cool thanks. Yeah my tap is actually pretty decent that's why I continued with it for awhile. I got pretty excited setting up the ro however waiting for the water isn't so fun haha

Current USA has some pretty good prices. And everything is digital and remote control you can set it up for cloudy days storms and so on. Check it out. They are really nice.

Just bought a Ro/di for my 75g. Everything I've read has pretty much said they are needed. I was using tap water treating it with prime, some bio and salting it myself. Is the Ro/di really that great? For those of you using one have you seen a difference? Picture of the tank as well....

Alright so had my tank for about a week now. Have a few fish a star and a couple emerald crabs (came with my live rock). Sooo there happened to be a 2 inch clam in one of my live rocks. Didn't think anything of it. All of a sudden the crab is eating him. So I'm like crap clams dead let me get...

I have a power head for a 90 gal tank mine is 75. Been running it since I got my fish. No skimmer I have 2 hob filters rated for 90g a piece. And I have those disturbing the surface a bit as well. I have 75 lbs of crushed corral 25lbs of live sand and 75lbs of live rock as well.

Thanks for everything guys. Had a nitrate spike this morning. In the process of a 25%change. Everything looks pretty good. One of my stars doesn't look the greatest I may qt him I don't see improvement after the change.

Update: acclimating now. Tank water: PH 8.3 ammonia, nitrite, nitrate 0 water temp 80. I'm feeling good about this. Have 4 5g buckets with the same water in case I need a water change or qt. wish me luck!

How long have you had the tank? It seems like you have some room in there.

Purchased but still haven't put in my bubble tube. Only because I have heard it's a terrible idea from some and great from others. Is it worth my time or should I get my 40 bucks back. I know it's mostly for looks but I thought it help bring oxygen in no????

From what I have read rinse and repeat. Rinse them and put them in a couple 5g buckets with similar water you intend on using in your tank. Obviously when you put declor in use small doses. Should take but a few hours. Good luck.

At what ammonia level would you do a change. I have a hard time bring the ammonia in my change water to zero sometimes. Any advice.
