    Ok I do about the same water change schedule for my Africans My lights are on longer since I'm trying to get some green algae to grow If you wanna get rid of it I have great luck with an algaecide Other wise let it grow on the rocks and just scrub it off the glass

    If you don't like the look of it on your rocks ( I prefer the look on my rocks) You could cut back on lighting Or increase water change volume

    I would recommend a sponge filter since there cheap and affective Lightning I had mine set up with just your standard light bar

    The bacteria will still feed off it. It just in a form that is not toxic to fish used in my tank in case of spikes and never had problems

    My angelfish are the same way 2 feedings work great and keep up with water changes I have mine set for an auto feeder while I'm at work then I will feed them myself at night Try frozen foods found it fills them up better
