My GT is just over a year old. I got him at 2.5" in oct 2016 and he is now a solid 6" pushing 7" soon. So keep this in mind. An adult gt would be good solo in a 75g or larger imo. I would not go any smaller though.

A 75g or a 90g could work.for a solo wetpet as long as they don't get much bigger than 12" or so.

Yeah it seems your boy has maxed out which if your happy with him that's great and nothing else matters. Hopefully he lives a long and happy life with you. I would really like a larger gt. Hopefully he reaches a minimum 10" but I am really aiming for 12" as the goal. Only time will tell...
