Soo there's this algae in my tank, it's like green thread and it floats at the top of the tank looking very ugly. Does anyone know what it is and how it should be treated? I tried turning off lights for a few days and it was fine but a few days later whoop it came back .. thanks a lot!
The tank is waaaaaay too small for 8 goldfish. One goldfish needs a minimum of 20 gallons. Can you return them to the shop? Then you can have a lot more shrimp.
Hello I have a 2.5 g RCS tank witb a few ram fry. Today I noticed a few strange worms in the tank. They looked like mosquito larvae but did not hang on the top, and my tank has a hob filter so I do not think they are mosquito larvae. What are they?
Oh no! A common pleco can reach up to 2 feet so needs a giant tank... The 20gallon is not big enough for just that one fish. Can you return it to the store?
Also your tank was waaay too small for the goldfish. Maybe ammonia poisoning?
If the pleco is a common pleco then the tank is still too small even without the moor.
My mom turned off the filter cause it was "noisy" and now I can't find any shrimp. I think they are all dead. Mom?!?!? oh well I guess I will have to buy new ones. How much should I feed? I think I am feeding a bit too much with my shrimp food.
Also can anyone tell me how many shrimp I should...
There is really no need to do so much to clean the tank. Every week or 2 weeks you can just take out 10-20% of the water from the tank and replace it with dechlorinated water.
Also you should not clean anything with tap water as it will kill all the good bacteria on the surfaces that you wash.
Oh no one of the shrimp died. Should I remove the body? Will it be good food for the others? I think I might have been feeding too little . How much should be fed? I am feeding hikari shrimp cuisine.
As for parameters, I know I should get a test kit but can't as here in Singapore one costs like ~$65 (like what even?!) And as a student I can't really afford it. :(
Light I don't even have one, I just have a usb thingy that I plug in when I want to see the shrimp.
I have a lot of plants...
But there are nothing in the tank apart from 5 rcs and some pond snails. Yet they are still hiding and even when I try to find them the most I can see is like 3 shrimp. Is this a passing stage as I just added them 2 days ago?
I saw this weird thing in my rcs tank. The rcs were just added so one might have died. But I am not sure is this an exoskeleton from moulting or is this a dead eaten shrimp? My tank is heavily planted so most of the time I cannot see all 5 rcs at once. So I cannot be sure they are all still...
Hi I was wondering how to take good photos of stuff in the tank with a phone. It always focuses on the wrong thing... If it is not possible to take good pics with a phone does anyone have a good aquarium camera to recommend? Thanks!
Please get a bigger tank soon.
How long have your fish stayed at 5cm? If it has been long you might think that "oh they are small fish so it is ok" but no. The only reason why they haven't grown bigger is because they can't. They have so little space that their brain tells their skin to stop...
