So far I've let my plants dead leaves die off, only problem happened when one almost got sucked into the filter (not sure how it got over there either.. fish moving co?) and started to block water from being sucked in.

My first fish were goldfish, and I have to tell you, they're a good bet. I've had mine for three years, and I think they've got to be my favourites. They're hardy (In the summer, when it gets too hot, I'll even float an ice cube in the tank (well.. one or two small cubes for a 25 gallon tank)...

They're all beautiful, but I think the one in the first pic on the right side is the most stunning. I'd love to get seahorses, but I'm just starting out on my first saltwater adventure, & I don't want to rush into anything. So just consider me jealous :]

I had space on a desk in my room, and plants didn't look right there, so I figured "FISH!". Stereotypical goldfish. Just two. In a goldfish bowl. From a petshop that is now closed, but took very poor care of its animals when it was open. A friend bought me some more goldfish, and there wasn't...

Noted. I actually went around and got a few people to pitch in on this, so it will probably end up a lot bigger, a lot nicer, and a lot less strain on my wallet :]

So I've had lots of fish (all freshwater.. guppies, bettas, goldfish, tetras, that sort of thing) and I've had fairly good luck with them. Now, I'm moving up to something a little more difficult. Anyway, this will be my first saltwater tank, and I quite literally have no idea what I'm doing...
