I have two male dwarfs in a 30g and aside from occasional nipping and chasing they seem ok.

So, I went with my next go round, a pair of beauties that I thought were going to finally flourish..........Once again I was wrong.....I'm now 0-4 with Angelfish........Clearly some of parameters are wrong. I'm done with them for awhile....................I just need something cool to finish...

Not on your list, but Dwarf Gouramis are very colorful and beautiful and remain at 3" or smaller, suitable for your 29g.........Also the mollies and platies come in some very bright orange and yellow colors, and the guppys have some wild color combos too. Good luck!

yeah in the store they looked kinda dull, at home under my flourescent lights, they look like they are glowing, they are so colorful and bright.

I have two dwarf male gouramis (red fire and blue). they max out at about 3".........They both leave the other fish completely alone, though I see them chasing each other from time to time out of 'their space'. They are absolutely stunning looking FW fish and my 2 favorites.

Ok.....Looking around online, looks like they're more intended for smaller fish like neons and my tetras....

In other words, what will they not get eaten by? MY current stock is Dwarf Gourami, Angelfish, black phantom tetra, clown loach, molly, platy. Will any of these eat the shrimp?

Ghost shrimp, what are they safe with, what will eat them? Amazing...I love SW, someday I may try a tank, but right now money and time are the enemy.

i've got two 16" 40w flourecents over a 30g tall hex. I might have been misleading, Algae is not a problem, and I don't have a ton, but I've noticed an increase in the amount on the glass recently. The tank is moderately planted (3 live plants in bottom), I'll probably just scrape it as needed.

I've recently added a secondary light for my plants, but I'm noticing a lot more algea in the tank. Anyone know of any chemical additive to reduce or help remove Algea that is safe for a dozen or so fish? Or is it just something I've got to scrape out every once in a while?

Great news I found the exact 16" strip at a Petco of all places. I snatched it up and its on the tank now...I can't believe how dull my lighting was with just the 1 wimpy strip before.

Well the replacement angel was found lying on the gravel this morning, dead. Thats 2 dead angels, my only casualties thus far............He was more active than the first one, but lately was hanging out at the top behind the filter intake, like the other..............He didn't eat very often...

Well 24 hours later things seem to be going well! The tormenting has calmed way down, and now they mostly keep their space, but occasionally I see them almost swimming in stride together! then randomly the red fire will turn his attention to the blue and make a half hearted lunge towards...

I introduced 2 platies to the tank a Mickey Mouse and a Sunburst. The MM platy has had various amounts of crap coming out since I put him in........Is there such thing as fish diarrhea or is this typical of platies? He is otherwise behaving fine and swimming all around.

so I dropped in the blue dwarf and 2 platies and a molly today.........The Red fire dwarf doesn't appear too happy. He scoped it out a bit and then chased the blue gourami around a bit.....Every now and then he chases off the sunburst platy. I'm watching them careful, he seems most occupied...

I have an exact same shape, a 30g tall hex.......I currently only have the stock one that came with it, a 16" 40w flourescent......I was thinking of just getting an additional 16" 40w flourescent for behind it....would that improve lighting and help my plants?
