Im not so sure, I dont know how well theyd do with cories but the tetras and beta should be okay since bettas tend to stay at the top of the aquarium and and shrimp normally try to search for food on the bottom. Id look into their compatability with the guedeons, they might be trouble.

That sounds like 1/2 a watt per gallon there, 2 watts per gallon for a tank that size should be able to grow them ok but that lighting is too low. I think your fine dosing flourish excel as I use it for my hc cuba or dwarf baby tears which are very demanding. Try dosing some more liquid ferts...

Plants are very healthy for fish and shrimp. Most dont heavily effect ph and if you have an amonia problem i would opt to buy something like seachem prime. There also products to lower or raise ph if youre struggling. Plants are very good additions to tanks for aesthetic as well as practicality...
