The rest of his body is fine except for the lump. The scales on the the lump are not even popped out at all.

I have noticed for the passed few days a lump on my bettas left side. It doesn't appear to be hurting him or anything. The only weird thing I have seen him doing is laying on the floor more.

I have been seeing these tiny pink/purplish worms in my tank off and on. Usually one at a time sightings but today I saw 3 all in the same area. It freaked me, so I took my aquascaping tweezers and removed them. I want to know if they are good worms or not. Thanks.

His tank water never drops below 77 and never goes above 81.

He seems better now. Hes swimming around more and he even ate bloodworms later in the evening. I might add aquarium salt but I definitely will keep the water warm and clean.

The tank isn't very high, maybe a foot and a half from the top of the tank to the ground. Its on a bedside table. The rip in his caudal fin doesn't go all the way to his body, though I am not sure if it will still cause an infection.

I only have a sponge filter so can I just do a big WC to get the meds out once treatment is finshed? Regarding the salt, I only added about 1/4 teaspoon and when I do water changes every morning I add back way less than that to the tank to keep concentration up.

The meds I'm using are mardel ick cure. The man at my lfs said they use it for their fish and it should clear in 3 to 4 days then continue dosing the meds for 3 to 4 days to make sure all ick is dead. Im also using aquarium salt, though a lot of people say it does nothing to kill the ick its self.

My lfs recommend me mardel and I have already dosed it for my tank as well as aquarium salt. The instructions are pretty vague so I'm just going to do wcs in the morning, with vacuuming as well. Then dose the tank again until hopefully I see some good results.

I want to get some ghost shrimp for my betta tank. The tank is cycled and has a ph of between 6.4 and 6.8. Temperature is 78 to 80 regularly, and nitrates never get above 10ppm. My tank has lots of plants and I read that shrimp love moss so I got some java moss. Do you think they will be ok?

Ok it sounds like the best thing to do is nothing. I might look in to getting some limestone or crushed coral. Thanks for your advice!
