My Echinodorus parviflorus has gone horribly RIGHT!

Got this guy at a PetCo a while back. i made a post of it some months ago, and THIS was the situation then: Since then I have separated the Rosette's and re-planted them. I have also down graded from a Penguin 150 to a Stingray elite when the Penguin finally wore out. My substrate is a little...

    10 galon update!

Well. the motor in my Penguin burned up, so now im using the only other thing tht i had, wich is an elite stingray power filter. I added an airstone to get some airation and surface agitaton. Minimum hours of growing light and more frequesnt water changes have slowed he BGA down.

    Adding Live Rock

that is true but you dont know what that will do to the rest of the life in the tank when you mess with the light schedule as well as the water changes and filtration

    Adding Live Rock

it is just that the best way that i have figured out how to get rid of algea is to take away its main food source so that it dies off naturally i got rid of hair algea with weekly water changes of ro it went away in a month and i didnt change my lighting schedule at all

    Cycle seems weird

where did you get your live rock if it wasnt precured it will add more amonia and nitrites to your tank due to things dying on it

    Adding Live Rock

the algea doesnt feed off of light so cutting down on your light will not affect it i would try a phosphate sponge or something to take the nutrients it is feeding on out of you tank

    50,000 gallon home aquarium

What a bunch of Bull! I would have to set up a dedicated solar pannel / battery array for the watter pump or i wouldn't stand a snowballs chance in Miami of affording the watter bills! But then again, compared to the cost of adding a facility like that onto your basement and purchasing...

Thanks for the advice on feeding. I was wondering about that. Did another gravel vac to help cut down on some of the ditritus. im wondering if the current in my tank is too strong; when they feed, they dont seem like they have enough time to eat as much of it as they would like before it gets...

    New tank update!

Well, i just got back from the Pet store and tested my watter with my new kit. Ammonia levels have spiked, probably from the addition of the fish and from wasted food. I did a 25% water change, and will do another 25% change when I do the gravel vac in a few minutes. The fish are still not...

    New tank update!

Hey everyone! Well, my new tank has been up and running, fishless, for a while now. No detectable Ammonia or Nitrites, and the watter is clear. I seeded the water with a small amount of ammonia at setup, when i added my bactiria cultures, so for now im assuming that i am fairly far along in my...
