I just bought my water filter, I wanted a ro-di unit. The fish guy directed me to this.... Hydro-Logic Purification Systems - Small Boy Is this a good one? I can't see anywhere where is says it is a ro-di unit. Should I find another one? Any thoughts? If this won't do the job, I will get...

Have you tried Purigen? If it'll fit in your filter, It will help with the water clarity. They are a bit pricey, but you can use them over and over.

Ok, I was going to go with both. But I used to have Ranchu, so I tend to overdo the filtration. So is a HOB completely unnecessary? I am thinking an octopus HOB skimmer, so maybe too much on the back on the back of the tank? So I am OK with about 80 pounds of live rock and a skimmer! Good!:cool...

I may do a sump if I convert my 100 gallon fresh to salt down the road. But for my beginner tank, I am going with a HOB or can. I actually really like the AC110. I have one on my other tank.

My next purchase is my skimmer. If I do not have a sump, what would be the best bang for my buck? I am looking for an efficient, effective skimmer. I don't mind spending money,but still have ALOT of things to buy. If it's too complicated, it's not for me. Any brands to avoid? Features to insist...

I am so new to saltwater, and would hate to buy an anemone and not take care of it properly. And it would be a LONG time until my tank is established enough, too.

I had my heart set on an anemone and a clown once I get my tank set up. But after lots of reading (LOVE this site....), I found this website. Does anyone have experience with this coral or vendor? SARCOPHYTONS AS A CLOWNFISH HOST I know my fish may not host, but I also really like the looks!

I go to petco, but the other stores around me have pretty clean tanks! Darn! I have a little tank ready, but I never have enough to put in there, I like to make my puffers happy..hoping yo get a good amount and start breeding. :bowl:

yes, I do need a skimmer.....I like anubias and java ferns....low light stuff. The snails have to be small enough to feed my little amazon puffers....maybe babies?

I am the furthest thing from a DIY girl you will ever find. Even the most simple instructions are greek to me..... My little mind doesn't work that way. I would much rather pay, or pay someone build one and get it running. Anyone?
