    Does a canopy of Salvinia auriculata reduce oxygen

    My tank surface is covered with Salvinia auriculata and it must reduce the surface agitation from the bubbler, general surface movement and also total water surface area exposed to the air. So do the plants reduce oxygen levels in the water?

    I recently encountered this rule online - it seems very high compared to 1 inch per 2 gallons. Does anyone follow this rule? The rule also changes to 0.5cm per liter for unheated water.
