    What can i do with a 10g

Multis or brevis should be fine to start. The multis would be better though, as you could probably have around 3 to 4 in a 10-gallon tank. Just make sure you have a lot of empty shells and you should be fine.

Fish Choices for new Tank - help?

Second the motion on the dwarf cichlids. I'm looking at getting some checkerboard cichlids as well. Checkerboards, blue rams or apistos would look nice in that tank.

    What can i do with a 10g

A spare ten gallon tank? Get a pair of Tanganyikan shelldwellers. If you can find a bonded pair, that should be great. Else, a planted shrimp tank looks like a good idea. A betta in a ten gallon tank seems like a pretty empty tank to me.

Fish died while cycling...should I be doing more?

If you have other friends with aquariums, what I would suggest is that you ask for or borrow some filter media to "seed" your filter. That should jumpstart the cycling process and eliminate some of the ammonia. Also, feed sparingly. Also, daily partial water changes of around 10% to 15%...

    Mystery Snail Eggs

Oh well, I'm sure you'll be seeing eggs in the near future. It's hard to keep a good snail down. :D

    Prolific Fish

I wouldn't know for certain, but we do eat these Tilapias here in the Philippines, so I guess they're pretty prolific as well. :p

    Cories for my 20g?

Nice deal you got. Congratulations on the new cories. We'll be waiting for the pics once they get settled in.

    Bettas and Community Fish?

Alright. No offense meant. I was just trying to help. :)

    Prolific Fish

The Neolamprologus brichardi from Lake Tanganyika is probably the easiest african cichlid to breed. They're water rabbits.

    friends for betta

I'd say some hatchet fish for the top part of the water column, some of the milder tetras (cardinals are nice) for the middle part, and some cories and otos for the bottom.

    Mystery Snail Eggs

I haven't had any actual experience with snail eggs and cichlids, but I'm betting they would be considered snacks. I agree with jsoong, just hatch them in a small tub.

    Cories for my 20g?

I'd say if you want a good-sized school of them, say 5-6, go for the dwarfs. Else, 3 pandas should be fine.

    Bettas and Community Fish?

Sorry, but first off, I would strongly suggest you find a way to remove the Green Terror. None of the other fish you mentioned are going to be able to stand up to him if he decides he'd like to play rough. You're setting yourself up for heartbreak if you risk leaving him there, even if he's...

    Possible dither fish?

I wouldn't even try taking out that divider between the clown loaches and the blood parrot. At some point in the future, the parrot will go after your loaches. Remember, clown loaches don't have scales, so you'd probably end up with open sores on your loaches if you remove the divider. Adding...

    Are All Tetras Nippy?

I've experienced keeping a number of tetras at different points in time and the "nippiest" of them seem to be the Serpae tetras. The ones I had before took quite a bite out of my betta's tail (back when I didn't know better). In terms of movement, the Buenos Aires tetras are the most...

    Is my driftwood ready?

Looks aside, the discoloration would be good or bad depending on what fish you have in your tank. If it's a betta or some other fish from South America, the tannins that are causing your water to discolor should be welcoming, as it may be making your water a bit more acidic. If the fish you're...

How many small (less than 1.5") shrimp in a 55gal?

Seriously, that's going to be enough shrimp for a buffet. What are the "danio-sized fish" you're referring to here? That would probably partially determine how much shrimp you can stock in your tank.

    Feeding Africans While On Vacation

The only additional suggestion I can make is clean your filter and do a partial water change three to four days before you leave. Otherwise, the others have given sound advice. Leave all the lights off, feed sparingly once every three or four days. Everything should be fine when you get back.

    Cichlid Wars

What they said. That's not going to stop until one of them dies off.

    Minnows in a Fridge?

My aunt who lives in Canada told me about a neighbor's koi pond freezing over the winter, but you could still see the fish swimming below the thin layer of ice. I'm not sure if they survived the entire winter though.

    Betta Question

I wouldn't do danios, but tetras and rasboras should do fine. Just make sure they're at a stage of development where the betta wouldn't view them as a meal. Since bettas tend to hang at the top part of the tank, why not some corydoras?

    More varied diet.

I'll second the New Life Spectrum pellets. They're great for coloring up your cichlids. I've yet to own a cichlid that didn't go nuts for NLS. They're pretty compact, so probably feed gradually when trying it out for the first time.

    Eatheaters

Nice fish. If I may suggest, you'd be rewarded with much more interesting behavior if you had a fine sand substrate. I'm sure your geos would love you for it.

    Compatability Question

It probably wiped out the slimecoat of the goldfish. While a lot have said that the tank is too small for the pleco, it's also way too small for a goldfish.
