    Marco Rocks got it.

NO....Trust me! Marc's rock is the BEST. I have met him personally and he is a good guy. You can't get better rock than Marc's and many people don't understand until they see it in their reef or fowlr.

Q: about using kalkwasser for alkalinity control

I agree with the first post, but I would have to say imo, calcium levels do have an affect on invert health to a point. Try PWC's and if you don't have a reactor, look up Randy's Recipe for dosing...nice and cheap and works great.

    40 gallon tank

Try some emerald crabs for the bubble algae. They worked great for me....However they also worked great eating a Tyree $150 favia so keep an eye on them!

    New 55gal

If it was once FW please check that it was never treated with copper. If it was, you will not be able to keep any inverts which would be a BIG bummer.

    tiger oscar sick ?

First thing you need to do is grab some test kits and test for amonia and nitrites. It is possible the old bacteria was not nearly enough. On a brighter side Oscar's are very tough in my opinion. If you do not have access to some new test kits right away, I would recommend some frequent water...

300G FOWLR - Lighting for Soft Corals?

Imo, I would go with some nice T5's and you should be fine. You can build a nice T5 fixture DIY for a reasonable price and expand your options.

    want to rearrange the tank.

I have honestly never had a problem re-scaping my tank with all livestock in it. I would wear some gloves and go for it, and do a good water change after. Good luck.

A few pics of my tanks

Thanks. I have a ton of corals in this tank so I realize I will be doing frequent fragging but as things are looking now, I may go saltless for a while, while I am planning to buy a home. I have BIG plans for then and will post a build thread. I am planning to do a 300 gallon + that will...

Not sure I understand? Why don't you just buy a tank, even used and put some LR that has been cycled so you can put your fish in a temporary home?

New England Aquarium Clubs, Associations, and Societies

The BRS or Boston Reefers is AWESOME! Through the good people at BRS I learned everything I know about keeping a reef whether it be softies, LPS, SPS, FOWLR, etc. If you are in the area, the BRS is great. There are so many knowledgable people and some AMAZING tanks to see!

    little bugs at night

Whether they are copepods or isopods I wouldn't worry about it. Probably beneficial for your tank but would need a pic to be sure. btw, I got bit by a bristle when I was new to the hobby. My finger has never been the same...seriously!

Moving live rock - re-scaping tank?

I have rescaped my tank a few times. It is fine to rescape with rock in the tank, however try not to stir the sandbed much. If you really stir up a sandbed the results can be devestating. Dont let that scare you, I was just noting it. Why did you consider that garf stuff? You are cycled as I...

Couple nudies on some of my zoos.

Yes I have read about this quite alot but never had them. I just wanted to add that you should really treat all your zoos, not just the ones that you see the nudis on. No worries either I have treated all zoos with betadine or providone they will not be harmed. I also treat all my corals with...
