Ok thanks. In my quarantine tank 3 of the 4 fish are eating healthy. The other one hasn’t eaten for days. Although it is pretty active and it’s not lethargic. Is it sick??
Hi it’s been about 4 days since I bought 4 black skirt tetras. Right now I am quarantining them. I put them in a 4 gallon tank. I don’t know whether they are healthy or not. Only 3 of the 4 eat and they aren’t very active. They mostly swim towards the bottom and touch the bottom. I don’t see any...
Currently I have 4 Glofish tetras and one white skirt tetra. There is some territorial behavior between most of the fish probably due to a small school. And I was thinking of getting more fish. Can I get some black skirt tetras or do I have to get the same species?
Thank you so much. I had to bang the nitrate #2 bottle very hardly against the table and once I did that and did the test I finally measured some nitrates. Thanks!!!! Also I’m getting 4 new blacks skirts and I have a 4 gallon quarantine tank. Is that qt tank big enough for 4 and how long do I...
The API test strips shows a little ammonia but the API liquid test shows zero. All I did was shake bottle #2 for nitrate but this time I’ll try banging it on the counter.
My tank parameters had read 0 am 0 nitrite and about 20-40 nitrates so I did a water change and my tank had just recently finished cycling. And I Had a bunch of fish food flakes on my substrate. So I did a very thorough gravel Vac and a 50 percent water change. I have 5 Glofish tetras in a 20...
Hi so I’m new to the hobby. I am doing a fish in cycle with 4 Glofish tetras and 1 skirt tetra. I am nearing the end of the cycle and almost am done. It’s been well over a month since I have had the fish. Although they just hide and never come out. One of them comes out to eat but very rarely...
Yes so I have a 20 gallon tank. Two of them are very territorial and don’t let any other fish come in their territory so I suppose it could one of them.
So one of my fish barely eats while all the other eat pretty well. When I put food 4 of the 5 fish eat very rapidly while that one just comes out of its hiding but does not go to the surface. Sometimes if the food sinks down then he eats it. Sometimes he just comes out to eat when all the other...
So my tank has just recently cycled. Here are the results below.
Since I have also applied ich medicine. I have to do a gravel Vac + 50% water change, will this damage the newly established cycle/ beneficial bacteria.
Ok so it’s only been like 3 weeks since I have started the fish in cycle. And my results are posted below. Does this mean my tank is cycled? I dosed Seachem stability but only a couple of times. I never had measured any nitrite.
Hi so my fish have ich. I poured in the ich . Although I had to open the filter cartridge and remove the activated carbon from their, there are still a few pellets of activated carbon in the filter cartridge, is that fine or will it affect my medicine.
How can I raise the temperature of my tank safely. Do I increase it by one or two degrees every couples or can I just set it to the desired temperature right away?
Hi so I noticed one of my fish have white spots on them, I attached photos below. I have a 20 gallon tank of 5 Glofish tetras and only one of them has these spots on it. Is it ich, if so I don’t have a quarantine tank. What should I do?
If someone gives me water from their established tank will that cycle my tank instantly. By water I mean they will take some water out of their tank and clean/ squish their filter sponge in that water.
