Well I see no problems with a stock tank. As long as there is enough hiding spots for the Knifefish I don't see any problem. The only thing is you probably won't see the fish or if you do for shorter periods of time

I see no problems with getting Ottos. Ive kepted betas with Ottos no problem but every beta is different so you may find they don't get along but that is a very low chance since you have other fish with the Betta. I would wait untill you see alage before you add Ottos since they are algae eaters.
