Honey gourami female chasing the male

The one with more vivid colur is chasing the smaller paler one. Can't decide whether two females or one female and a one male. Anyway, it seems that the more vivid one is always making sure that the other stays at the back of the tank. No biting though, only chasing.

Hi, I'm planning to rescape my tank with new substrate system which include crushed basalt rock (not the pourus kind) as a base layer, covered with a used mix of aquasoil, sand and deponit, and a capping layer of pool sand. Is there a way to disinfect the used mixed substrate? It is from a...

During the cycle I had all parameters as expected (amonia, then nitrites and almost 40 ppm nitrates in the end) and only after amonia and nitrites went to zero ppm I started adding fish. All the...

    Is my neon tetra sick?

Euthanizing vs letting him be So, after many observations and research, in my opinion this is a result of trauma during shipping or while in my tank. The patch doesn't look like its neon tetra disease nore a fungal/bacterial infection: The fish is vital and hungry. Only thing that bothers me...

    Stocking beyond what aqadvisor recommends

20 neons, 9 amano shrimps and one honey gourami in a 20 gallon heavily planted tank, all parameters are 0. According to aqadvisor this is 100% of my filtration capacity, and a 91% stocking level. I'm running an internal 100l/h + a sponge filter. Will it be safe to add 10 ember tetras to the tank?

    Snail safety

I'm looking to get a snail but not sure about whether it will be safe with the substrate I'm using (in the photo). I'm afraid that it will scratch/cut the snails foot. The pebbles aren't sharp to the touch and are from a reputable brand. Cheers.

Having problem feeding new fish in quarantine tank

Thanks again. The tank is a plastic tub with a plastic plant decoration and live frogbit plants. The fish are not afraid when I'm near the tank, they hide only if I open it to clean/feed them. I have a small led light for the frogbit. Most of the tank is shaded with the help of the frogbit plants.

I have 9 neon tetras that I got 5 days ago that I put in a quarantine tank. I'm not...
