    Fish

Hey Andy! Thanks for the feedback. I am aware that the hippo tang won’t be able to live in there for long, my local fish store buys back fish for 75% of what you bought them for as long as they are in good health so he won’t be a problem long term. I added three more pieces of rock in there, two...

    Fish

I have a 35g tank with 2 small clowns 1 small blue hippo tang, 1 small yellow watchman goby, and 1 diamond goby. I had a small yellow mimic tang that died and I’m wanting to replace him with another fish. What should I get? I also may get a pistol shrimp to pair with the gobies, will that be a...

    Injured yellow mimic tang

Thanks for the help but unfortunately he ended up dying about an hour ago. Do you think he was too weak to get away from the current of the wave maker? I added some new fish yesterday so he may have been weak because of stress. I’m very hesitant to turn my wave maker back on.

    Injured yellow mimic tang

I found my yellow mimic tang stuck to the back of my wave maker and it destroyed its fins. He is not able to swim, he just sinks to the bottom and lays sideways on the ground but is still alive. What do I do? Humanely uthenize the fish or try and get it to heal?

    Starting cycle

So how long should I wait to add fish after Fritz turbo start? Would a pair of clownfish be a good amount?

    Starting cycle

I am about to start a new saltwater aquarium with Fritz turbo start 900, in the directions is says to add livestock or their fritz fishless fuel. Is this necessary for finishing the cycle? The directions are quite confusing and I’m not sure wether or not if I can just add the turbostart and wait...

    Kelbiri Peacock Bass

I’m setting up a planted 125g aquarium and I want to put in Kelbiri peacock bass. They grow to a smaller size rather than regular peacocks, only about 12-15” I think. I’ve heard a lot of different things about tank size regarding these fish so I’m not sure if my tank will be sufficient. Also...

    Piranhas

I’m kind of wanting to create an Amazon River biotope. I’m either wanting to stock it with 1-2 large predatory fish or some schooling fish that are on the larger size. Now that piranhas are out of the picture, I’m having trouble figuring out what to put in the tank. Since it’s 125 gallons I...

    125g tank reseal

As I am only 14 and having to pay for this tank myself, I don’t think I’ll be able to buy a tank tank because they are quite expensive. Do you think I should just throw away the tank and be done with it? Or is there any way I can test it before putting it inside to be absolutely Sure that it...

    Piranhas

Ok. After what I’ve seen they are starting to seem like their not worth the big hassle, I may have to reconsider what kind of fish I’m keeping. Thank you for your insight.

    125g tank reseal

Thanks again Andy. I’m not sure if you remember but you’ve also helped me with my silver dollars nipping at my Oscar. They are doing much better now.

    125g tank reseal

The glass does not seem to be chipped. The previous opener had a leak in the same place and caked on a bunch of black silicone that I have since scraped off so what I think you’re seeing is the old residue from the silicone.

    125g tank reseal

I recently acquainted a 125 gallon tank with a leak in on of the edges. I have since resealed it and have noticed a small leak in the same area. It is dripping from the side wall but water is puddling up around the corner and I can’t tell if there is another leak on the bottom in the same area...

    Oscar fish

Thanks for your help Andy, I think I’ll start spreading out feedings during the day in smaller amounts. Also, does the Oscar need to be permanently separated or just until the wounds heel?

    Oscar fish

Okay, I think I got it.

Is there any way to add a picture from IPhone?

    Oscar fish

I’ve noticed that my Copper Red Oscar fish has some missing pieces from his fins and a slight white tint around the edges around his fins along with some spots that look like they have been almost bit off. He is currently around 3-4 inches and is housed in a 75 gallon with six other small silver...
