    33g long stocking center piece.

I'm currently cycling a 33g long, tank dimensions are 48"X12"X12". My plans for the tank are 10 glowlight danios, 10 cherry barbs, 6 peppered cory's, and and an albino bristle nose pleco. I'm looking for a center piece fish, any one have any recommendations?

    Canister help

I tried one on a 5g and was disappointed. It didn't have a lot of power and developed a leak after a couple of months. I'd look for an Eheim 2213 or API Filstar XP2

    Small tank stocking advice

Betta, pair of scarlet badis, or shrimp. I'd go with just the Betta, that's a big bioload with the corys.

    Sponge Filter vs Canister

I second the Odyssea for a budget canister. I used 2 stacked Hydro 5's on the intake. Worked like a champ for 3 years before the motor went. It's basically a big bucket of sponges, there's no trays. I use an API XP-L now. If I had to choose between the 2 I'd save up the extra money and go...

    Canister Setup

Whatever tray the water enters first use a 30ppm sponge filter then a 20ppm sponge filter. Don't use a water polisher like polyfill because it clogs up to quick. Fill the rest with biological media. Put your Chemi-pure, Purigen, etc on top. I use the Cermedia balls with Fluval Biomax filling...

    Root Tabs and Plants

I use osmocote+ root tabs, replace every 4 months, place them 6 inches apart, and try to stick them about an inch from root feeders.

    55g Firemouth tank mates.

I currently have a 55g with a 3" Firemouth Cichlid. I need some help or suggestions on tank mates. I'm looking at adding a 6-8 Rosy Barbs, a Pictus catfish, and a Bumble Bee Catfish. I'm also considering instead of the fish above, adding a group of 3 Long Ear or Pumpkin seed sunfish. Will...

    RO/DI wastewater for freshwater tank?

I wouldn't use it because all the bad stuff is going to be in an even more concentrated form since it was rejected by your ro/di. I put a T right before the DI and use that for my FW and drinking water. If you're worried about wasting water you can upgrade your filters so you get a 1:1 ratio.
