I love my tidepool II. The only beef I have with it is that its not really deep enough. My tank sits pretty high and being a 135 doesnt help.
I had to go to lowes and get a Pond pump that puts out around 1300 GPH
That barely gives me my 600GPH flow that the SOS...
Well after waiting for a response to a previous post I have decided not to buy my 150 gallon tank...I just dont think 1/2" plate glass will hold up under all that weight.
So I have talked the wife into a 180 and Im thinking about doing 2 tidepool 2 Filtration systems any one have a better idea...

First off thanks for the help with the cracking frame on my current tank.
The 150 Gallon tank I want to get from glasscages.com is made out of 1/2" thick PLATE glass...will this really hold up under all the weight of water and gravel???

I just heard a very weird popping sounds and looked at my tank and saw that the plastic framing around the top is cracked.....
Would some JB WELD for plastics work on this or should I use some Epoxy?
Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Yeah I like the ideas so far but i will have to change the substrate to Black tahitian Moon sand because the 150 will have our current stock of africans transplanted to it. I would love to do a small planted( ie no co2 reactors and stuff just self sustaining) with large schools...

Thats a good idea.. never thought of trying to have someone cut it thinner.
I wasnt going to replace the back glass, just silicone some tiles to the back of it (on the inside) but I wanted to make sure that would'nt put any undue pressure on the back glass seams or the bottom glass...
I am about to purchase another 150 gallon tank (48"W X 24"D X 31"H).
I was going to silicone some black marble tiles to the back glass.
My question is, this tile, once in place will have a total weight of 61.9 Lbs. What will I need to do to beef up this aquarium/stand/floor/whatever?
