I picked up a betta book and it stated you could keep one male betta and up to several female bettas in a tank- provided it is heavily planted with lots of hiding places. Is this possible? Anyone try this yet? thanks.

Thanks An t-iasg , What I ended up doing was cleaning out the 2.5g tank all togerther. Wanted to start with a clean tank since I had only made partial water changes for it the past two months. Seems to work so far, and wilson the betta is doing better! Will watch closely.

I just bought one female and one male guppy for a 10 gallon tank. I have a female betta already there and I'm concerned the female betta will attack her new room-mates. Will this likely happen? Also do guppies need an oxygen pump or can i get by without? Thanks in advance!! :)

As I'm expanding into this hobby, I picked up a 10g tank and automatically transferred my male batta fish over. He made bubble nests quite often in the 2.5g tank but doesn't make one at all in the 10g. So what do you think is wrong? I'm still tryin to get the right decor for this new tank...

thanks An t-iasg, Based on the photos from the link, he doesn't look to have ich. Maybe some sort of fungas. I'll continue to monitor and add a bit more aqua salt with the standard betta fix remedy.

Hi folks. I noticed my betta has what looks like white specs on one of his gills. It comes and goes. Sometimes it's not specs but at times it looks like he's shedding ? Could this be ick? The tank is new to him. I've added aqua salt too. He's quite healthy and he's not tryin to scratch...

thanks a bunch zephyr , I'm gonna try that large rock to the side. I'd like to have live plants but one time I had one(I think it was hornwort) and it seem to pollute the water with all of it's stems floating. How about java fern? Or do I really need a live plant at all?
