Many of you helped me through the painful process of dealing with my first tank. I got very poor advice from the LFS and loaded up my 29 gallon with a bunch of fish early. Everyone died, my kids were upset....it was bad. Eventually, with people's help here, my tank settled and now its doing...

My pair seems to be doing very well. Eating shrimp, bloodworms and flake. I will post some photos. I like them so much I was thinking of adding some gold rams to my second tank.

I am certainly no expert, but I have two dwarf gourami and both have had those small sores. Almost look like kanker sores. Mine have had them near their mouth. In both cases, they have gone away and everyone seems happy.

I found one belly up this morning and the other fish had eaten part of him. The other guy seems to be gone - must be in the substrate somewhere. Not a pretty site.

Krazykrystal - Joy is right on the money. Unfortunately I went through a very similar situation with poor advice from the LFS. Joy and others kept me sane but also gave me great advice. I had a 30 gallon with about 10 fish in it to start. About half died. I started doing 50% water changes...

Just checked - water is in good shape. Fish are happy. Added a kuhlii. Totally psyched to have it in control.

LFS told me that 29 gal, which is what I have, is too small for discus. Not sure if thats true and would be interested to hear others opinions because I would love to get one.
