I've seen a feeder goldfish get pretty big (like 8".) Don't use RO water because it lacks the necessary minerals that the fish need. Plain old tap water with a dechlorinator thrown in will do. If you do use RO, buy some of the stuff that puts the minerals and trace elements back in. Keep...
