    Mutliple Types of Clowns

Honestly I don't know who I'm talking to. I did not look up your info to try and find a birth date. Comparing people to fish threw me off though honestly. Granted all individuals are unique- TO A POINT. I've heard MANY stories of angels acting fine for months and even YEARS before they start...

    Can starfish get ich?

Inverts don't do well in hypo. I'd definitely get the star out of the tank asap.

    Aqua C Remora Pro

Then I'd say it's a safe assumption that you probably have a fair amount of dissolved organic compounds in the tank, even w/ the water changes. The skimmer may produce less bubbles after some more time. FWIW all skimmers will put out some bubbles, but until now I've personally never heard any...

    Mutliple Types of Clowns

:confused:That's not really a relevent comparison. That's called stereotyping. An animals personality profile is a whole other matter. There are no vegetarian lions roaming the savannahs of Africa.:) Maroon clowns are NOTORIOUS for being aggressive and territorial. Read any profile about this...

    Mutliple Types of Clowns

Don't count your chickens just yet. Maroon clowns only get bolder w/ time, maturation and growth. I had a maroon clown that was a model citizen for almost three years. Then she started reaching maturity/adult hood and started being agressive and rearranging my tank. I had to get rid of her in...

    Aqua C Remora Pro

One thing I think worth mentioning is new tanks and tanks with high organic levels in the water will have more problems with micro bubbles than established, "clean" tanks. So if the tank is new or had only a low end skimmer on it before, the Remora may need a couple more weeks to clean it up in...

    Upgraded lighting-how to acclimate questions

I would move any low light corals towards the bottom. I don't think shrooms will appreciate being high up in the tank w/ the new lighting. The devils hand should be OK as is. Just take it slow with the light acclimation. As for the clam a Derasa should be ok on the bottom of the tank, but 24" is...

    lighting for sump/fuge

It depends on what type of algae you are using. Caulerpa should be lit 24/7 to prevent it from going sexual. That can lead to water quality issues and a possible tank crash. If you use Cheato, etc you can just light it opposite the tank. In my experience, and from others I've talked to, lighting...

    Penn State University reef

Nice looking frags. Those are going to make some really nice colonies. Any idea what species the light colored piece in the back, left is? Kind of looks like a "deepwater" SPS piece.

    Feather Dusters help please

That is what worries me. As Sadielynn said, this usaully is a very bad sign. If it looks like it's dead, get it out before it pollutes the tank. The other duster should get better w/ some time to acclimate to your tank. Your water params look good. Good luck. PS- Have you checked your salinity...

    Feather Dusters help please

What are your tanks water parameters? (ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, PH, temp,) How did you acclimate the dusters? Sounds like they could be stressed either due to water chemistry issues or improper acclimation.

    Upgraded lighting-how to acclimate questions

I've tried both shortened photoperiod and the screen method. The screen method Ccapt mentioned is less stressful in my experience and is what I prefer. Shortening the photperiod along w/ the screen method is the safest bet. Your RBTA will thank you heh. My BTA had a hard time adjusting when I...

That is pretty cool, not to mention a great trade. Congratulations. Now let's see some pics of those milles lol.

    livestock for sump/Fuge

Unless you have to put something in the fuge, I would not add any predators like crabs, hermit crabs, etc. You want your fuge to contain as much of the beneficial fauna found on live rock and live sand as possible. Things such as pods, bristle worms, mini stars, and sponges, should be allowed to...

    Ziggy953's 72 Bow

That is a great looking reef. I like the rock lay out and the SPS look fantastic. Nice work!
