What levels should I have with a 10 Gal tank. Thanks

I am not using a hydrometer. Is that I piece of hardware that I should get. I am pretty careful using the salt, so i am not too worried about it, but it would be grea if I could check it. Can I get it at a LFS? Thanks

I am a proud father to some new fry. Do they take any extra care then normal fish. I am adding some aquarium salt to the take after cleanings. I hope to keep them in this small tank, look at picture, for a while so they are not eaten. Also the small container they are in gets a fair amount...

It is a 3 chamber, which mean it will hold 3 preggos and has space at the bottom for the fry to drop through. I took out the divider so she has even more room.

Well my Molly is looking pretty plump. Do i just throw her in a hatchery until she pops a couple fry out or what. She is in there now, and she has has been pregnant one time before this. Thanks for the help.

I am sure the problem is the light being on too long. Obviously the fish look better with it on. My africans hace been completely fine at 7.0PH. Is this bad for the Africans?

In the past month I have gone through 2 Plecos. Seems like my Africans keep picking on them. I am getting a ton of algae, but what can I do. Any suggestions besides scrubbing?? Thanks

both tanks are about 1 month old. They have both cycled. No new fish recently or anything like that

I dont believe i over feed. I have a Eclipse filter and a penguin mini filter on the 10 gal. Ammonia is 0. This is just the first time I have seen nitrates this high.

I have 2 tanks and in both tanks my Nitrites were in the 30-40. Any idea why. I have a 20 Gal with 2 Africans, and a 10 gal with 3 mollies, 2 danioes. Thanks for the help

So then what do I do with the Fry? Just keep them alive and then sell them or what? I dont want 50 Mollys. :lol: :lol:

He just gave birth 1 day ago, I just want to make sure, she is already pregnant????? So once I see one little guy pop out, i will net her and put her in a "little box" and have too many fish to deal with. Are there any quidlines with frys? Do you feed them normally?

When can I expect her to be preggo again. I have 2 males and her.

My Molly just had frys and within about 1-2 seconds after popping out the other fish ate them including the mother. How do you keep them alive? How often do Mollys give birth? Do I need to worry about it again? Thanks for the help.

I always assumed that the 30 seconds the chemicals are in the water (in the bucket) before you pour it in the tank really didn't make a difference. As soon as you pour that treated bucket water into the tank everything mixes within seconds. So my assumption is just fill your tank from the sink...

I have a 20 gal, but I have a fair amount of rocks in there. We will see how things go. So far they seem happy, but I know not to put more then 4 in a 20 gal tank. Any other suggeestion would be great. Or if there is a great site on keep ing african, since this is my 1st time with them

I just picked up a Kenvi and an Auratus. Do African like Brackish water, and do they like warmer water or cooler. This are my first africans so I want to make sure I am doing things right. Thanks for the help.

Do they hook up to just a regular sink or do I need any extra parts??

Eyes, fins, and tails all look ok. I dont have any salt in the tank because I was going to put other fish, like danioes, algae eater, and maybe a few tetras. If you think those can handle the salt I will add it. Thanks for the help.

I put 3 Molly's in a new 10 Gal. 2 are doing great, but the 3rd has a lot of white stuff around its gills. What is it? Is there anything I can do. It has only been in my tank for 24-36 hours. Thanks for the help.
