Well it is now almost 2 years later so here is an update: Two out of the original six Discus have paired off and I currently am growing out 80 babies from their 3rd spawn.

TY Well its been one week but already i can tell the fish are growing comparing last weeks photos to this week i can see the BD's have gotten taller.

I did mine on the cheap/smart I bought the Faucet Pump (Lee's BTW) and a dedicated Garden Hose then attached a Gravel Siphon Tube to the end of the Garden Hose.

You said you are starting out with 4/6 Juvie's.... In all honesty your Juvie's will do better in a larger group than four, I would recommend 5/6 as a min with 6 being more preferred. I try to keep my Discus tank at 86 to 88 for Juvies and 84 to 86 for Adults.

I have a saying I live by that has saved my fish on more than one occasion: "When in doubt wait it out".

I have had very good luck using the heat method 3 times in the last two years I have got ICK from new angelfish I bought At a LFS (thankfully I use a Quarantine tank) each time I raised the temp to 88F to 89F (no Meds) and it got rid of the ICK with out a single fish loss within 30 days.

I have had the Gold ones breed with the Black ones the babies when all hatched some were gold and the others black. As mgamer20o0 meantioned lower your water level as they lay the egg cluster above the waterline also i might add they need it to be humid also the more so the sooner they hatch.
