    TDS Readings

    I have a 5stage RO/DI out of my tap the TDS is in the 600's. Out of the RO it is a 7 tds out of the DI it is always under 1 when the DI cartrige is new. I change all my pre filters if the RO TDS reaches 15. just me. HTH

    While some use silica I don't perfer it. You want a Ca. Carb. based sand. Like SouthDown, Yard right, Carabian Sea, ETC.

    I have to agree that enviroment plays such a big role in this area. Placing corals of diffrent regions in the same tank may not work for both. {reason I have so many tanks, I couldn't keep everything I wanted, had to change the enviroments of each tank to meet the needs of the corals in it.}...

    Skimer Das BX-1

    The BX 1 is suppose to run upto 300 gal tank. But I usually run the BX-1 up to 150 gal and after that the BX-2 upto 300 gal and over 300gal I like the BX-3. The DAS BX series skimmers are great. they will practacly out perform all most any skimmer. JMO and JME. I use to work for DAS. 8)

    I have this coral under 2 x 400w MH about 8" under the light. As stated above stage the coral to the light buy starting far away allow it to adjust and start the move up.

    Yes But with out water changes you will need to dose additives all the time for essential elements. I choose water changes. Lees expensive and keeps the tank from becomeing chemicaly dependent. JMO

    IMHO, the seahorse tank is the most difficult marine tank to keep. They require the best quality water conditions possible.
