    So with others help n reading I have come to the thought that this is definately some weird little sponge...doesnt seem to be hurting anything...so Im going to just leave it alone....see what other shape it takes..lol Thank you again to all. Have a great day.

    Yea just not sure....it doesnt shy away or anything like that....and its pretty firm...has a little whole on top...thought maybe a worm was in it????Hope not though cause that is one big worm if sooo....lol

    update Ok spoke to the original owner n she did verify that she had bought a jack dempsey also...but thought it was one that was eaten.....she said this was basically the last one standing so she assumed it was eating all the others...she only fed it when she thought about it there for awhile...

    I think you are right on the jack has the same red along the fins as this one n the same patterns....just mine is lacking its full color....but I will keep looking....:D
