    220 gallons of bubbles

the only restriction may be the fittings on the sump bulk head and pump have a 3/4 inch opening to facilitate the 1 inch pipe to slide over them where as if I changed out the pipe to pvc it would be a full inch opening.

    220 gallons of bubbles

I set up a 220 gal tank about 2 months ago. Ever since I turned on the pump its had a lot of bubbles being produced mysteriously. The setup has two overflows that go into the top of a 50 gal wet/dry bio balls. water then goes through the drip plate into bio balls then into the sump area. I...

    help with potter's angel.

I have had two potters. One died within a week, the other doing great. The only thing that was different is the second time I had a lot more LR in the tank. I found the best thing to help a fish acclimate is to have plenty of hiding places for it. As well as good tank mates. You should put him...

    Ich?

My clown tang seems to rub his face(yes only his face), not his gills and body along the sand bed. Except there are no signs of ich at all(spots, heavy breathing) None of the other fish seem affected although that could be due to the UV sterilizer. He's been doing it for weeks(4-5). I dont...

    Nitrite and Nitrate

How many pounds of LR should I have in a 72gal. Should I get another filter. I beleive mine is rated for 160 gal tank. I have about 14 inches of fish. Was also wondering how much light would plants need such as red algea plants or maidens hair? I have a 3 36w T8 bulbs- coral sun, 50/50 and...

    Nitrite and Nitrate

Tanks about 11 weeks old. My ammonia levels are fine always, but the nitrite stays at .5 ppm and my nitrate at 20. I know pwc is nessecary but my main concern is the nitrite. Isnt that supposed to also stay at 0. A week after water changes it seems to find its way back up. I dont believe my...

    Blue face or emporer

I do have a 155 gal that I still need to set up, bascially waiting until I can come up with the cash for the filter and light. While were on the subject, which one does better? I heard the blue face can accually require more then the 155, more in the range on 180+?

    Blue face or emporer

I wanted to get one large angel for my tank. My other fish and whatnot are compatable, I've check and recheck before I drop $250 on one fish. My 80gal tank is 4 months old. about 40lbs premium live rock when purchased.(sponges, algae, tube worms, polyps, green foliage on them) and still...

Newbe with a free 210 gal

I'm not sure if anyone else mentioned this, because I made this mistake a few weeks ago when I set up a tank that was in storage. DONT USE SOAP!! That vinegar idea sounds good, someone told me to use bleach but everything has to be completely dry before you fill it back up with water...

You can try some plants. They remove excess ammonia, nitrates, and phosphates from the aquarium. In addition, they help remove heavy metals and neutralize toxins. Marine plants also provide a pH buffer and produce chemicals which protect the skin, intestines, and gills of aquarium fish Also...
