    Velvet treatment

I had to put my temps to 90 or so to get the ICH to go, if that helps.

    Sorry, another ICH question

Just wanted to post that the spots are now gone without us losing any more fish and they all seem happy. I will keep the temps high as recommended for a week or so yet. Thanks to all that helped. Heat treatment does work, wahey!!

    Ideas for an algae eater

We have 2 banded gara's and they are brilliant. They do their job but are also entertaining. They often look like they are synchronised swimming together. The cat loves watching them, although it does frustrate her at times!

    Sorry, another ICH question

Thanks again Missile. I've bought an extra air pump and an air stone and am doing 10 - 20% PCW's every day or so. Fingers crossed I guess...

    Sorry, another ICH question

Thanks for the replies. I'm pretty sure it is Ich and have posted a pic (hopefully!) The spots have come off the Rummynoses and they are flying around now. The Clowns seem perfectly fine, I'm just concerned the spots are still there although they do look to be less than there were a couple of...

    Sorry, another ICH question

Sorry to bore you all with this again but: The heat has been at at least 30 (86) and more than usual at 32 (90) and we have had no more fish die. This has been 6 days of heat treatment so far. However, all 4 Clown Loach still have plenty of spots on them but most of the time seem normal...

    Do Kuhli's need sand?

We have had 4 Kuhli's in the tank for a month or so and all seems fine. We have a gravel base and lots of plants but someone said we should have sand for the Kuhli's. They seem pretty happy, as do the Clown Loaches but do we need sand? If so, can we put sand over the gravel? Ta

    Anyone famous live near you?

Ok, I'm struggling with 'famous' here any very UK based but... James Morisson lives about half a mile away from us. Fat Boy Slim & Zoe Ball live a couple of miles away. Chris Difford of Squeeze lives in the Marina, 3 miles away. Will Young has a holiday home down the road. Chris Eubank is...

    Sorry, another ICH question

Thanks Missile. We have the air pump on for at least a couple of hours each day to try to negate the heat. Thanks again

    Sorry, another ICH question

Thanks for your help. We have 2 thermometers as well as the one on the heater. Both in the tank - either sides - say just over 30 degrees, so 87F+ ish and the heater says 32 degrees - 90F. Looking at the pictures in the ICH thread I am almost certain this is what it is. If so, any suggestion how...

    Sorry, another ICH question

Everything in the tank is fine - water parameters etc. - but we have been hit by Ich in the last week or so. We initially lost 3 Rummynose Tetras and our other 3 were full of spots and not looking too healthy. Having read the excellent advice on here I decided it was best to go for heat...

What type of loach for a 29g

I guess they could. I have Clown Loaches as well so the plants do move a bit from time to time but they are easy to move back!

What type of loach for a 29g

I have 4 khuli's and think ther are great. You don't see them very often but sometimes they swim around like madmen!

    Sick Rummynose? - Help please

Water is fine. No nitrite, PH at 7.5, no other problems. The fish are about a month old but the tank is about 4 months old and not had any previous problems. There are 4 barbs, 4 harlequin rasbora, 4 glass catfish, 4 khuli loaches, 4 clown loaches, 2 banded garas and a siamese algae eater. The...

    Sick Rummynose? - Help please

Hi, We have 6 rummynose tetras and one of those looks not too well. He looks a lot smaller than the others and his tail is pretty much together and not fanned out, if you know what I mean. He seems to spend a lot of time near the top of the tank with his tail higher than his head, facing...

    Fighting or playing?

Hi, We have a banded gara (sucker on the side fella) in our tank and a friend has given us a siamese algae eater. The book we have suggests they should get on fine and our friend said there would be no problem but the gara seems to be chasing the algae eater a lot. Are they playing or...
