    Free African Clawed Frogs

Any one on Long Island interested in an African Clawed Frog? They get to about 5 inches. I raised a few of the tadpoles from my pair of frogs and I have 5 left. They're still young and about 1-2 inches long (including their legs). At the moment they're lightish brown, and I'm not sure if...

    Betta Fins!!

I've a veil tail betta in a 10 gallon for about 4 months now. The tank has gravel at the bottom, silk plants, 2 java ferns, 1 piece of drift wood that I sanded down meticulously to get rid of any possible dangers, and a plastic hallow tree thing. I do weekly water changes and test the water 1-2...

    Threadfin Rainbowfish

There seems to be a lot of fish that have the same situation. I guess I'll just have to do some hunting

    Threadfin Rainbowfish

So I should do like 2 males and 4 females for the Threadfins? Would that work okay?

Aquarium Filters: Hagen AquaClear Powerfilters Was what I had down on my list for filters, the one for the 50g would be a good choice?

    Threadfin Rainbowfish

Well I was already planning on doing weekly partial water changes, I've been told that Threadfins are a little sensitive. And I'm still looking into filters, any suggestions?

    Threadfin Rainbowfish

/Sigh.. I'd love a bigger tank. But I already have an empty 20 gallon long laying around the house from when I had a pair of African Clawed Frog (Still trying to get rid of 4 of their babies lol). I guess that works though cause I'm rather fond of little fish and for some reason I like how 20...

    Threadfin Rainbowfish

The Celestial Pearl Danios are one of my favorite fish. Those would be an option I would be willing to do as well. So.. so far its either Dwarf Rasboras, Ember Tetras, or Celestial Pearl Danios. =P There's way too many to choose from!

    Threadfin Rainbowfish

I'm also looking into fish that aren't known for being nippy. Trying to avoid that cause of the fins on the Threadfin

    Threadfin Rainbowfish

Nope, I just would really like an orange/reddish 1 inch schoaling fish =).. I don't know many. I do really like the Ember Tetras though. I'm always open to suggestions =D. Keep Em Commin!!

    Threadfin Rainbowfish

Not really a fan of the bottom one.. But the top one.. the Pseudomugil gertrudae is pretty.. a little bigger than the rasbora though, tops out at 1.5 .. the dwarf rasbora is .5 -1 I believe. I may still stick with the dwarf rasbora, the color stands out more IMO compared to the threadfin

    Threadfin Rainbowfish

What are they? I may look into them. They're really nice looking =)

    Threadfin Rainbowfish

I wanted to stick with the dwarf rasbora to get some bright reddish orange in there. I was looking for some fish that were sort of contrasting. Plus theyr'e very tiny.. Only about an inch. I don't have much room to work with in a 20 gallon long. I wan't to get fish with very small bioloads. I...

    Threadfin Rainbowfish

Great :-P I don't know why I've never thought of the Threadfin Rainbows before. I was watching videos of them earlier and they seem to be pretty interesting to watch, not to mention very pretty. And water quality isn't and issue for me really.. I get paranoid when it comes to the animals I take...

    Threadfin Rainbowfish

I've been browsing around looking up fish and coming up with different stocking combos for a 20 gallon long. (Next year I plan to set up my 20 gallon long tank after me and my boyfriend get settled in a new place.) While I was browsing I noticed the Threadfin Rainbowfish (Iriatherina werneri)...

    Floating plants?

it says: -20" Flourescent -120 volt -18 watt -60 hz on the back of the light, I've kept various low light plants successfully with the current lighting I have with no issue. I'm not looking to grow my self an aquatic jungle or anything, just want to keep plants alive and healthy. =) I have no...

    Floating plants?

I've had my betta fish and his two snail buddies in a 10 gallon for about 2 and a half months now. They're all happy and healthy. I have mostly silk plants in the tank. But I've been starting to add a few low light, easy care, plants into the tank. Currently I only have one small java fern in...

    Betta behavior

I mainly got them as a tester for the betta. I figured they have a shell so if my betta was aggressive they could hide in the shell before any real harm was done. And they can regenerate teh feelers and eyes to an extent. They do look nice and they're pretty active, they crawl all over the...

    Betta behavior

I've had a male betta in a ten gallon tank for about a month now. I know you can add other aquatic life in there with them depending on your betta's personality. Last week I added two apple snails to the tank and he seems to be okay with them. He ignores them for the most part. The first hour...
