Less than 1 year old. All Glass Aquarium Dual Bulb 36" Fluorescent Light Strip, Oak Finish. Paid $99 brand new, asking $60, obo. Building custom canopy for 46 bowfront and light will not work with the dimensions I used. Live in Middle Tennessee, but will ship.

My biowheel was nothing more than a haven for algae. I ditched the wheel, and left the filter with just floss. No more algae outbreaks and my plants took off.

I cut the lights off in my planted tank for 2 days and it did wonders to the algae problem. I didn't feed the tank either. Didn't bother the fish or the plants.

I don't know of anyone in the Nashville TN vicinity w/ SW. There is a LFS 45 min from me who has great looking fish, but they all use cc.

Is Garf Grunge a legit activator (bacteria, coralline, copepods, etc)? I have heard some people call it crushed rock with muck. Is it worth $5/lb, or is there a better way to activate the DSB? I am starting a 46 gallon with DIY aragocrete rocks.

Pet Solutions sells SeaChem Flourite @ 9.99 for a 15lb bag. This is exaclty enough to cover a 10g tank. You use this instead of gravel. Won't make near the mess/stink of soil.
