    Sand Star disintegrating?

Got it. I was afraid of that. Thanks. A strange way to die don't you think... Drifting off into nothing. Anyway, is there a star you would suggest? I don't have any live coral, just dead and no live rock, seeding rock is my next project. Not quite experienced enough for that.

    Sand Star disintegrating?

I just received a set of new sand stars through the mail yesterday. Upon arrival one appeared to have a bite out of it. It was losing "green" interior material. I thought it would be fine and regrow it's leg if I kept it in a qt. Watching it today, the rest of the star is falling apart! It...

URGENT - Banded Bamboo Shark injured

I'm not going to get in an arguement about space requirements. See "Aquarium Shark and Rays" by Scott W. Micheal chapter 2 p. 45 and chapter 4. Valid point on the foxface's aggression because of space. I will place the foxface in the smaller quarantine tank and treat the shark in the larger...

URGENT - Banded Bamboo Shark injured

No, I tried to diffuse the situation first. Prior to this they were the "best of friends." Always found together in the tank. Strange, but true. I rearranged to tank to destroy territorial disputes if that is what was wrong. It worked. Everyone is much happier. I will seperate the shark...

URGENT - Banded Bamboo Shark injured

He's doing better. Still labored in his breathing but it's slowing down. Going to try to feed him again today. Thus far still no appetite. No signs of infection or wounds. I am going to see what I can get my hands on in the way of Nitrafurazone. Can I use this even in the big tank or must...

URGENT - Banded Bamboo Shark injured

The tank is a 95 gallon setup for the hatching of the egg case. I only have three fish in it - 1 Foxface, 1 Sleeper goby, and 1 shark - plus the "cleanup crew" (starfish and snails)

URGENT - Banded Bamboo Shark injured

I am in need of some input / help. I have a banded bamboo shark 4 months old, hatched in my aquarium. Healthy specimen, all tank specs are good: Salinity 1.0235, 0 Ammo, 0 Nitrite, about 30 Nitrate, ph 8.4 and GH and KH are perfect. He has had no problems until today. Just after a water...

    One spot foxface Rabbitfish

Moody foxface Thanks, he seems to be very moody, hopefully that is all it is. I have a black background and he continues to see his reflection. I will try replacing the background with something else.

    One spot foxface Rabbitfish

I have a new SW tank FOWLS. It is 90 gal and has cycled well. I am starting small and presently only have one fish in it, the foxface. All readings are good, Ammonia 0, Nitrite 0, Nitrate 20, and ph 8.0. I do not have a dKH kit b/c I was told the sw was buffered enough to care for it. He is...
