    150 gallon Reseal Help!!

If you do reseal it, do yourself a favor and tape up the front and sides inside and out. This will help prevent the almost unavoidable slip of the razor scratching your tank. Scott

    150 gallon Reseal Help!!

I'm not sure I'd reseal it just because of the time it sat empty. Water doest keep silicone moist and pliable. And no I wouldn't worry to much about a catastrophic failure over a leak. Scott

Play sand or pool sand? Pros? Cons?

IF the silica content doesn't matter, why would you choose the non-silica based sand? Just curious. I stick by my original post. Agronite sand would be my choice (and is my choice since I am redoing my tank in the near future) I have spent a small fortune on my tank and will not risk...

Play sand or pool sand? Pros? Cons?

I believe both of those sands have a ton of silicates in them causing algae outbreaks. I wouldn't recommend either in a saltwater tank.

Try this, make the room as dark as possible, shut off all tank lights and wait 5-10 minutes. Take a very bright flashlight and shine it on the fish you want to catch. He should be temorarly blinded and you should be able to net him. Its worked for me more than once. Good luck

    Hair algae plz plz help

Well you dont have to, but it will slow down the HA. Ive been battling HA myself and have cut my lights down to 4 hours a day and kill the lights for at least the two days before a big water change. It seems to weaken their hold on the rock. I have several corals that are still thriving even...

    Hair algae plz plz help

6 monthes, so can I assume that your light bulbs are 6 monthes old? If so then they're fine. I would up the water changes to 20% and do them twice a week and when you do the water change try to suck out as much HA as you can, and if you can remove the rocks with the HA on them and scrub them in...

    Hair algae plz plz help

When I bought my skimmer, I was told to always get one rated for twice your tank size, because most skimmer manufactors overrate their products. What brand/model is it? Second your phosphates and nitrates are low because they are being used as fertilizer for the HA. A skimmer is a good start...

Is a fine grass looking algea growing of live rock good or not

If the bulbs are old they could be contributing to the HA. As the bulbs age the spectrum of light changes. I would replace them if you dont know the age of the bulbs.

    Setting up a Protein Skimmer

What your pointing to is a drain for the collection cup. You can hook a hose to it and run it to a bottle if you want or you can cap it and just empty the collection cup. The white elbow Looks like the "return" line and If you put skimmer in your sump you wouldnt need to hook anything to it...

It could be that when it hit the water it hit it on its side and kinda "glided" for some distance. And is nowhere near where you think it should be. Just a thought.

    Wanting Anemone

Does your filter get plenty of light? If so then yes. And you can put chaeto in your tank if you dont have any herbivores that would eat it.

Ammonia in my tap water, now what?

If she has ammonia in her water supply, water changes are not going to help. You must find a new water supply if there is ammonia in yours.

    Water results?

I think you should return the fish and let your tank cycle. What kind of filtration are you using? How long has your tank been running? You are going to run yourself ragged changing the amount of water you need to change daily to keep these fish safe. Do yourself a favor and return the fish or...
