    Whats Wrong with this fish?

Evrything is fine Ammonia-0, Nitrite-0, Nitrate-0, PH-8.2, Temp-79, SG-1.022..... Its got to be some kind of communicable pathogen.... The fish are going one by one.... No effect on Star Polyps, Mushrooms, Crabs, Snails.... Just fish one at a time... I did a 50% water change just to be...

    Flatworms

I am preparing a 55gallon refugium for my new 150gal tank and have noticed an infestation of flatworms in the fuge... The 150 is not up and running yet, and I suspect the flatworms came in on some Caulerpa I seeded the fuge with. The tanks will exchange water in a mixing sump of 37gallons with...

    Coraline algae in FO tank?

Coraline Algae will require sufficient calcium levels which are genrally provided by either supplements, reactors, or leaching from LR... This will be your primary challenge I suspect.. However since there are no Calcium consuming Inverts in the tank.. It may be easier than I imagine..

    Switching tanks

I agree with Scuba_Steve.... Definitly buy the extra rock and sand and allow it to cycle in the new tank before dismantling the old.... Will be tons less to worry about... Good Luck..

    Overwhelmed By Information

PETCO STRIKES AGAIN!!!!!! Take as many of the damsels back as you can... No need to murder the little guys... Read the article suggested above... A raw shrimp will do the trick..... And at very most only a single damsel... Thusly the ammonia spike wont be so high it will be toxic to him...

    What to do next.

Did you use RO/DI water? What type of Salt Mix are you using? You can expect an ammonia spike when you add any type of organic, but I suspect your water or salt mix has a low ammonia level..

    Switching Tanks

In said case you have significantly decreaed the bio capacity of the new system and will need to properly cycle the tank from ground up to avoid a large spike. I would recommend moving all of the sand from the old tank to the new.

    110 gal set up

Ill need to check my notes on the order when I get back to the offfice next week but as I recall it somewhere near 1.40/lb shipped for sand.

    Fish in the Live Rock

WOW!!!! What a deal.... I am soon to order a substantial amount of rock and sand from LR.com and can only hope to be so lucky... Congrats on the extra... In discussions with Mike at LR.com, if you have met or exceed the 2lbs/gal rule on the LR there should be a very minimal cycle at best...

    Switching Tanks

Assuming there are no additional sources of Ammonia... IE new sand/rock/livestock.... There should be no noticable spike other than the disturbance of the accumulated ditrius in your existing rock and substrate being distrurbed as you move them from one tank to another. Depending on the depth...
