Fish is doing much better today. Did another water change last night and he's eating and his fins aren't clamped anymore. He still has some flakes on the top of his head but he looks so much better than 2 days ago. I'll still keep the temp up just in case. Thank you for all of your help.

AP Quick Cure Does anyone know if this is safe to use with a pleco in the tank.

Every LFS I went to in this area looked at me like I had 2 heads when I asked for Nerite snails. They said they had never heard of them. I was beginning to think they were rare and hard to get. Apparently in this area they are.

I think I'll get one and give it a try. I didn't realize the Nerite snails would be so hard to come by.

Still no luck getting the nerite snail. When I went to the PetCo they actually did not have them and tried to sell me mystery snails. They said that Mystery snails don't repoduce. Is this true?

Yup already white so I guess they are not fertilized.

All of my fish are very interested in the gravel vac. They follow it around the tank as my husband is cleaning. I'm always scared that they will get sucked up because they are so curious.

BigJim thanks for your reply. I had just assumed that because the fish had a large anal fin that they were both female. I didn't know that the pleco could lay eggs without another pleco. It may be the Pleco because he/she seems to be hanging out in the area by the eggs. And to answer your...

It took 5 weeks for my 20 gallon to cycle fully. A lot of patience is needed for this hobby but so worth it in the end.

I called the Petco a couple of towns away and they do have them. Will take a ride after I drop my son at PreK tomorrow. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Tried 3 stores today and no one even knew what nerite snails were. All 3 tried to sell me mystery snails but I believe that they can reproduce without a mate so I decided not to get one. Hopefully I will have more luck at Absolutely Fish about 40 minutes away when I go tomorrow.

OK. I was confused. I saw a snail called an Olive Nerita snail for freshwater so I thought that maybe that's what you were talking about.
