oh I didn't know I had to have the water to the top of the tank... when I first got the tank the lfs guy told me to leave 3 inches of space... I would love to fill it up to the top. I'm also thinkin bout making a diy overflow and sump pretty soon as well :)

redid the aquascaping :P

if you're going to drill, do it before you add water to the tank... can be disastrous if you add water first. if it's not reef ready you can get an overflow to the sump, I'm thinking about doing this. let me know how it goes and goodluck on your tank!

needs specs please? water parameter, how old is the tank etc...if it's been recently cycled it is perfectly normal. most likely diatom. I had a diatom outbreak and it went away within the week.

2 pieces of the shrimp is going to be cheaper than the ammonia tablets anyway :P
