    These guys are night dwellers. I have one also and he hides in a cave. Have'nt seen him in weeks. check your caves driftwood ect for him. They are also know for escapes if your tank is not covered really well.

    I would'nt suggest using any green wood in your fish tank. Don't know if it will poison the fish though. All driftwood for aquariums is dead wood. If you live by a creek or river you should be able to find some.

    The worms I feed are called red wigglers. Google them to find more about them. But yes you can feed worms from your garden. I just perfer to buy them as I have thousands of fish to feed. ( not enough time to dig for worms) When you do get the worms from your garden put them in a box for 2 days...

    Live brine shrimp are great. My fish get them every other day. I grow my own shrimp. There are lots of others as well like daphia,black worms,bloodworms,tubifex worms,guppies,feeder comets,rosey reds. I also feed blackworms,live ghost shrimp and bloodworms.

    If I had the choice I would get siblings of the same strain around 3.5" If you have a chance to see the eat that would be good also. If buying from the breeder chances are good you will get to see the parents.

    If you plan on breeding make sure you get the strain you are looking for. Best to see the parents if possible. If you can it would be best also to purchase them at at least 3" that way you will not have far to go before they start to pair off. Are you buying from a LFS or a breeder?
